The Kenosha Unity Coalition stands up for those at risk of violence based on three pillars: Justice, Equity, and Opportunity. The mission is to strengthen Kenosha by building bridges together for all citizens. The coalition was formed in March 2016 and is focused on those at risk of violence while building community relationships and identifying community needs, services, and strategies. The coalition began out of discussions regarding recent high number of violent incidents in Kenosha. Violence has been mapped to multiple areas of the community. The coalition is looking at violence as a public health issue with recent data illustrating that the leading causes of injury and death in 2014 included homicide, use of firearms, and suicide.
